Dakota Fanning... with fangs?

My aunt just sent me this.... I'm not sure how I feel about it... (and why would she have fangs, I guess E!Online hasn't read the books, lol)

Coincidentally (or maybe not), an online petition started by a Twilight fan already asks the studio, Summit Entertainment, to cast Fanning because she would be “perfect” for the role.

Early last month, Entertainment Weekly suggested Pushing Daisies star and Broadway diva Kristin Chenoweth. “Her voice is certainly high enough, and at 4'11'', she's also short enough,” writer Amy Wilkinson proposed.

Director Chris Weitz is expected to start shooting New Moon in March in the U.S. and Italy. If all goes as planned, the movie will hit theaters on Nov. 20.

Is Fanning right for Jane? We’re sure Twilight fans have plenty to say about it.

I mean, its WAAAAY better than having Vanessa Hudgens or something, but..

Eh. I dunno. I guess she'd be okay. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. This is so weird! Not knowing who they'll cast! I wasn't a Twilighter when they were casting Twilight so I had no problem with their choices...This is weird! Haha!

I just can't see her as Jane...she doesn't terrify me enough i guess. And I think of her as little. I had no idea she was 14!

But if this is summits way of testing the waters before they tell us they cast tom cruise, i'll be pissed.

Fanning definatly isn't my first choice, but i'll take her over a Disneyling any day.

I always assumed that Jane was older considering that the Voultri did not like children as vamps. I dont mind Dakota Fanning she has grown up a lot but that just was not going to be my first choice. I have heard a lot about people wanting her to play the role so it is no suprise that this is being leaked out. I guess I will have to go watch Push next month and see if she would do good in a more adult setting. Has she read the books.

I think if this becomes official, this will be a good thing. Dakota is a talented actress, which is a must for any role. As far as looking the part, I think she is close to perfect.
Jane is supposed to be young and tiny. Her and her brother were changed younger than Aro would have liked, due to them being burned at the stake for witchcraft.
She is supposed to be young and small, but able to cause fear to all except Aro, Caius and Marcus.

I think that Dakota is very talented. But, I'm keeping an open mind. She has done very well in past productions and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the future!
P.S. Her new movie 'Push' another Summit Movie, looks pretty good!

i think i am nervous... Dakota is well... not a scary actress.. she has only been in happily ever after movies... idk that she could play a strong young scary vampire that makes edward nervous. honestly i doubt it... like the disney stars it could be just a rumor... i dont think they should stop looking for a better jane.

I always pictured Jane somewhere between twelve and fourteen, but petite, kind of like Alice's height. IDK though. Guess we'll juist have to wait and see.
