So, Esme jumpped off a cliff after her baby died as we all know, but if she had a baby then she had a husband. What do you think happened to the father of the child?

They answer this on Twilight Lexicon. Her husband at the time was abusive, so when he got drafted in WW II, she ran off to live with some relatives when she found out she was preggers. Chances are that he either died in the war or he died of old age. Hope that answers your question
