| These are the first books I read after Twilight... not nearly as serious... more "typical high school" if you can relate that to a high school for adolescent vampires, lol. But they're really a fun read, and after a few books they start to get increasingly intense. Really easy to read in a day if you focus for a few hours. Here's the synopsis for book 1 "Enter the dark, magical world of the House of Night. A world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change -- and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look keep within herself for the courage to emrace her destiny -- with a little hlep from her new vampyre friends." good stuff, lol... | |

| I've read this one but I wasn't entirely that amazed by it. I thought the characters were a little stereotypical and I did not like the main character what-so-ever.
However, I am intrigued by the mystery of it all (included the ghosts that appear half way through it) and the love storyline so i'm giving it a chance. Plus, it's not that big of a book so it won't be difficult to get through. I've bought the second book but have yet to read it.

| well... admittedly they start out kinda juvenile.. but i think that's to set up all the "growing up" they have to do to deal with the things that happen in the book... it's not like they all become insta-grown ups or anything, that's not what I mean, but they go from all frivalous and teenagery to a little more mature....
hopefully you'll like the second book... i don't think they're works of art, but i really did like all these... keep me posted hun...
