Leah Clearwater casting

Alright, I need someplace to discuss this.


I just read an article Here that talked about New Moon casting and they are talking either Disney Channel stars like Vanessa Hudgens (the person who posted it made the argument that she is a little Native American. Possibly a quarter) or Brenda Song.






Discuss please.



Sounds like somebody spiked the kid's apple juice over at Disney headquarters to me.

omg!! wat in the heck!!! Twilight doesnt need disney stars...Ben Barnes is the only exception cuz he is not on the shows and stuff.

i have noticed that all the disney channel stars have jumped on the band wagon and audition or have read them.

but bottom line....NO DISNEY STARS!! i mean y do they get everything!!

If a Disney star HAS to be in there, I say Ashley Tis. She would be the best at playing a b**** like Leah (even though Leah's one of my favorite characters)

HELL NO! Even if she has some native blood there's no way she can be intense enough to be taken seriously and she's way to young looking. Her disney background doesn't help AT ALL and she doesn't look the part. I'd rather they cut Leah rather than turn her into a wimpy little girl.

I don't consider Ben a disney kid (27 and didn't get his start on disney) so I'm happy with him...and, you know, he can act. NO disney kids EVER. Not only would fans be upset but I seriously doubt they'd mesh with the current cast in any way. I'd be so pissed if a saw one of those foofy little girls trying to catch the guys eyes (as you know they all would).
Honestly, I don't care who the cast dates,spends time with etc. but truthfully I see no good coming from this except they're probably cheap. no apologies for any of that.

I was thinking about that but here's how I look at it:
Jackson "was" a disney kid BUT he can and does do other material. He's able to work outside of the disney world. All of the kids they're looking at (or young adults, whatever) pretty much need disney to do work. They all have a quality to them that screams immature. I mean, there's a difference between the disney generations. Older gens were taught how to break out of the disney mold when they got to the point where they had grown past disney. The current generations have yet to do that and they all seem to be living in this disney bubble even when they should have broken away a long time ago. Part of this is disney's fault. They need to let actors and bands go sooner than they have been but it's also up to the kids to take notice when enough is enough.
I know disney looks like a good plan if you need company support but in the long run, it does more damage if you don't establish boundaries. For example: I think no matter what the Jonas brothers do, they will always be seen as a disney group thanks to how long they've worked with the company. It's not like artists of the past where they stuck with them for a while but moved on when the time was right. (christina,justin,ryan etc.)
We know these singers and actors started out with disney but they moved on. You'd be hard pressed to find people who look at ryan gosling and say "Oh, look at that disney kid." you know?

Now this could just be my perspective and ideas about how the business works, but I think it makes sense. Please feel free to correct me if I have something wrong or you have another opinion.

OH YES! She was in that film based on pocahontas correct?
The movie was rushed and not fantastic but she did a wonderful job. She's fairly new to big films so I don't think she would cost too much either. love that idea!

She does look amazing but she has to be able to pull off that pissed off, I don't care what you think sort of attitude. True, Jackson and Ben are disney "kids" somewhat but they were not famously known for their parts. I'm not making fun of them in anyway (ask anybody, I friggen love HSM) but can't pull off a character like Leah. They are way too bubbly.

whoa....that would be crazy if someone like vanessa hudgens were cast....all of them are way too bubble gum and sugary sweet for a project like this. i agree about the girl that was posted about on here i think she would be amazing if she is able to pull of leah's intensity. if they do cast a disney person i prolly would see the movie just to see how they play their part, or just to get a good belly laugh, but may not watch the last movies if they don't do a good job *more than likely they wouldn't*

but casting for leah... wowww summit.. like seriously??? vanessa hudgens?!?!? that is the worst idea EVER. i agree with DanaBug's.... Q'orianka Kilcher could totally portray leah's character.
